Accreditation of Pedorthic Tertiary Courses

Pedorthic Association of Australia is responsible for accrediting pedorthic tertiary programs in Australia. On completion of an accredited Bachelor of Pedorthics program, ony can apply to be a PAA Certified Pedorthist Custom Maker.

Accreditation of pedorthic courses is essential to ensure that courses are of a standard to promote excellence in graduates, setting a benchmark to ensure graduates have completed the tasks and learning objectives required as a prerequisite to pursuing certification, and assists in protecting the credibility of the pedorthic profession.

PAA establishes an Accreditation Committee to oversee the accreditation proves and provides advice to PAA’s Board of Directors in relation to issues to do with accreditation of a pedorthic tertiary program.

Further information about the Accreditation standards and process can be found in the resource PAA Course Accreditation Standards, and the supplementary resource PAA Competency Standards for Australian Certified Pedorthists.
