PAA Achieves Full Membership with NASRHP
The Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) is proud to announce that it has been granted Full Membership of the National Alliance of Self Regulating Health Professions (NASRHP).
NASRHP provides a national quality framework for self-regulating health professions, setting benchmark standards for professional regulation and accreditation. PAA’s achievement confirms that its professional standards for Pedorthists align with these national benchmarks.
Full Membership with NASRHP assures consumers, government, and stakeholders of the safety, quality, and integrity of self-regulated health services. NASRHP’s evidence-based regulatory framework is aligned with the standards of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), ensuring consistent expectations across the broader health sector.
Since 2021, PAA has undertaken a comprehensive review of its standards and policies to meet NASRHP’s rigorous documentation and governance requirements. This included updating existing documents and developing new ones to demonstrate compliance with the national quality framework.
Achieving Full Membership is a significant milestone for PAA and the Pedorthic profession in Australia. It affirms the robust regulatory standards that govern Pedorthists and enhances PAA’s capacity to advocate for the profession. It also opens up new opportunities for collaboration with NASRHP and other member organisations to advance the collective interests of self-regulating health professions.
PAA is proud to have reached this important milestone and looks forward to continuing to work with NASRHP to strengthen and promote the role of self-regulating health professionals across Australia.
