Members Professional Code of Conduct

All Members of the Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) have an obligation to improve the standing of their profession by observing the following Code of Conduct. Compliance with the Code of Conduct is a condition of continuing membership.

  • Members shall strive to provide services in safe and ethical manner
  • Members diagnosed with an infectious medical condition shall conduct their practice in a safe and professional manner
  • Members shall adopt standard precautions for infection control
  • Members shall conduct their practice so that they provide appropriate treatment advice
  • Member shall have a clinical basis for treatments
  • Members shall comply with relevant privacy laws
  • Members shall keep appropriate records
  • Members shall keep appropriate insurance
  • Member shall display the code of practice and other relevant information in their practices
  • Members shall not make claims to cure serious illnesses
  • Members shall not practise under influence or alcohol or drugs
  • Members shall not practise with physical or mental conditions that may impact on their ability to conduct their practice in a professional manner
  • Members shall not financially exploit clients
  • Members shall not misinform their clients
  • Members shall not engage in sexual or improper personal relationship with a client
